More than 25 years of experience in the legal field

Ketija Tola has extensive and varied experience working in the legal field. Her main specializations are in the fields of banking and finances, as well as commercial rights and commercial transactions.

Extensive experience in banking and financial transactions

She obtained her experience in banking and financial services by managing the legal department of AS “Swedbank” (former – AS “Hansabanka”) through 1997-2008 and by taking part in projects and working in fields such as financing of purchase of companies, projects and working capital, syndicated loans, guarantees, letters of credit, PPP, mortgage lending, leasing and factoring, consumer lending services, various banking services, payments, financial instruments and others.

Experience while serving as chairperson and arbitrator

Financial disputes between banks and their clients were settled at the Arbitration court of Association of Latvian Commercial Banks where Ketija has served as chairperson and arbitrator (from 2009 – now).

Experience working with draft law

The legal regulation of banking, consumer lending services, as well as coordination and adoption of civil and commercial legislation, cooperation with state institutions were Ketija’s professional activity during consulting and representing the Association of Latvian Commercial Banks.

Extensive experience in commercial rights and commercial transactions

Ketija has provided legal services in the management of commercial companies, labour rights, the purchasing of companies/capital shares, purchase of goods, provision of services, real estate, construction, procurement, intellectual property, appealing of administrative acts and others.

Ketija has worked as the deputy head of the legal department in the Riga City Kurzeme District Municipality (from 1993 – 1995), dealing with such issues as the denationalization of property, municipal activities and managing of housing fund, as well as consulted the Copyright Consulting Agency of Latvia AKKA/LAA (1996) and worked as a lecturer in the University of Latvia (1990-1992).
